And The Moneynotes- And The Moneynotes’ sound will “fan the flames and make a person want to start distilling their own booze.” The Scranton, PA rock & western swing septet formed in 2006 as Dr. Horsemachine & The Moneynotes. After some of the players uprooted and others shuffled in, the group became And The Moneynotes in 2007. Both in person and on record, And The Moneynotes project the obvious joy of tapping into the buried fountain heads of American music.

Paleface- More than a decade since his last major label release, Paleface is back with The Show Is on the Road (Ramseur Records, 2009). The intimate album transcends genres with its ingenuous lyrics and deceptively unassuming style. Paleface was schooled personally by Daniel Johnston and discovered in 1990 by the legendary Danny Fields (The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5). During the ’90s, PALEFACE had two major label releases, two college radio hits and tours with the likes of Billy Bragg, and The Breeders. He’s currently touring as a dynamic duo with darling Mo.

Birdie Busch- The music of Philadelphia’s Emily ‘Birdie’ Busch is natural. There is no pretense, nothing forced or processed - just delicate, beautiful melodies and deceptively simple lyrics that resonate deeply upon further discovery. Inspired by writers like Paul Simon, Gillian Welch and Neil Young, there is a distinct jubilance to her writing that is informed with a sweet sorrow, creating a musical balance that is at once comfortable, familiar and still unique. One of Philly’s sweetest voices…

Sat 7/4- Y-Rock and R5 Welcome: Jay Reatard, T.V. Smith LATE SHOW Doors 10pm

LATE SHOW- DOORS AT 10pm

Jay Reatard- Having founded seminal Memphis punk outfit The Reatards at the tender age of sixteen, Jay Reatard is a seasoned veteran of the garage-punk scene. In the ’90s The Reatards turned the Memphis underground rock scene upside down with a legendary live show so over-the-top that they were banned in a number of European countries. After other projects he started a solo career that has taken off as his band’s fast and dirty live show has won score of new fans. He’s developed such a dedicated following that even his dirty socks have sold on eBay! He’s got all of the nervous, wavo delivery, and songs that upratchet and scuzz out the Futureheads and likeminded, modern competitors with Anglophilic, two-minute blasts of bright chords and sharp vocals grinding gears with garage-punk.

T.V. Smith (of The Adverts)- T.V.Smith rose to prominence in the first wave of British punk rock as singer and songwriter for the Adverts who, after frequent early appearances at the seminal Roxy club in London in 1977, gained cult success with the Stiff single “One Chord Wonders.” This turned to notoriety when their next single, “Gary Gilmore’s Eyes” thrust them into the upper reaches of the U.K. charts. The album that followed in 1978, “Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts” charted on its first week of release, and is generally considered to be one of the few genuine classics of the era. The latest T.V. Smith album, released in late 2003, “Not a Bad Day,” sees T.V. at the peak of his powers, presenting twelve new songs charged with the typically perceptive and witty lyrics that have established him as one of the best songwriters to have emerged from the punk movement.
