If you don’t know Frankie Vado, just listen to his lyrics. The words are ripped right out of his personal storybook. From the streets of Kensington in Philadelphia where he grew up to his professional life as a rapper working in North Philly, Frankie writes about what he knows.

He started rapping when he was in ninth grade in cyphers throughout the halls and cafeteria of his school, Kensington High. At first it was an outlet, a way for him to deal with the constant relocation and detachment experienced from living in foster homes.

He knew an education was important, so Frankie reluctantly put music on the back burner, while he earned two bachelor’s degrees from Penn State University. Coincidentally, that is where he met his producer and longtime collaborator, Phoe Notes.

Together, they released Frankie’s debut independent album “Yesterday’s Reject.” Since then, they have been releasing singles and planning a follow-up album in the near future.

Energetic Philadelphia wordsmith The Bul Bey has yet to take his foot off the gas. Emerging in 2014 as Illvibe Media’s newest signee, Bey quickly assumed duties as the official host of the wildly popular Friends and Fam party fronted by DJ Matthew Law. Since then Bey has moved on to work with the likes of !llmind, Like (of Pac Div), Roots Crew affiliate STS and more. After the release of the infectious single “Where I’m From,” Bey continued to push forward with the release of the official video for the track and his lyrical gut punch of a full-length debut, the 2015 Shaking Hands and Kissing Babies LP. In usual fashion, Bey presses on in new and daring ways as he readies the release of his self titled EP.
