Aron Magner & Tom Hamilton, Acoustic Again - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
A yearly tradition during the early 2000's, Aron Magner (Disco Biscuits) and Tom Hamilton (American Babies, Brothers Past) would take one night a year to dig through each other's catalogue and interpret their songs into an acoustic environment. After a few years off the duo will be starting the tradition anew at Philadelphia's Johnny Brenda's. As with previous years one can expect several guests and Beatles covers to pop up throughout the night.
Zach Djanikian - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
This 23 year old was born in the Philadelphia area to artistic parents, Zach’s father is a Poet, his mother a Painter/Sculptor. Music was constantly flowing though the Djanikian household. “My dad was always playing his Charlie Parker and John Coltrane records. I guess it was what inspired me to pick up the saxophone.” He was 8 years old. Attending an after school music program prepared him for the Merion High School Jazz Band.
Along the way his musical tastes began to move into the music of The Beatles, Paul Simon and “The Band.” It would be the inspiration of Simon that stirred Zach to think about trying songwriting. While at Lower Merion High School, he and some fellow students formed a band: “The Brakes.” The band is still together and performing to this day. Being a member of the band was the catalyst that made his mind up to start writing songs. “The band needed songs to play, so I thought that was as good time as any to give it a shot” says Djanikian.
