Free Form Funky Freqs - (Set time: 10:30 PM)

Loaded with fiery rock, free-form jazz and funk, Free Form Funky Freqs is known in its individual identities as guitarist Vernon Reid, bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma, and drummer G. Calvin Weston. "Reid might be most famous as a member of Living Colour, but he was a recognized guitar master before he was a rock star, playing with Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society. Lately, he has been the other half of Yohimbe Brothers with DJ Logic, as well as the guitar of choice in James Blood Ulmer's rootsy blues recordings. Likewise, Weston has recorded with a range of prominent crossover artists, including Ulmer, John Lurie's Lounge Lizards and Ornette Coleman's Prime Time Bands; in Coleman's group he shared the stage with Jamaaladeen Tacuma. At one point the Philadelphia bassist Tacuma branched off into his own form of funky dance music, but lately has stuck close to funk and jazz." -AllAboutJazz.com

Ghetto SongBird - (Set time: 10:30 PM)

There's an Electric Ladybird flying coast to coast through psychedelic clouds landing upon head banging clubs, juke style bars, and finger snapping cafes. Meet the bundle of rock and soul energy and Philly’s reining Queen of Rock & Roll- Ghetto Songbird.

This sexy super talented North Philadelphia born singer/songwriter/guitarist started singing about as soon as she could talk. Raised on her Mama's old LPs, she jumped right into the open mic scene and began jamming and trying out new songs. Her influences range from Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, P-Funk, Led Zepplin, Mandrill, Santana, The Doors, Sly & The FamilyStone to Prince, Lenny Kravitz, & The Mars Volta.

Blue To The Max - (Set time: 9:30 PM)

Kristyn "Blue" Simmons is a singer, songwriter & guitarist who started playing music in Seattle in '02 with a collective of musicians called, "Whatever Zoe". Back in Philly since '04, she's performed at various venues: InFusion, Time, Bridget Foy's, The Irish Times and outdoor events.
At the end of '09, Blue met guitarist, bassist & pianist Max Mitchell Ross and formed the duo, "Blue to the Max". Blue sings and plays rhythm on an acoustic guitar while Max makes the electric guitar bend to his will. Max has performed at the Painted Bride and the Trocadero, as well as other places in the tri-state area. He's also toured France with his guitar and had the best time playing for audiences in front of the Louvre.
Blue's style is her own mix of rock, soul, pop and hip-hop, with catchy hooks and lyrics. Max's improv skills and jazz background is a musical thread that helps bring this all to life that make for fantastic live performances.
