Loaded up with guitars, keyboards, amps, and a drum kit (and no bass!), Jukebox the Ghost has been touring the country non stop, playing over 200 shows a year winning people over with their infectious, energetic live shows. They take the stage and launch into a set of instantly catchy, piano-driven indie pop.
"DC's Jukebox the Ghost are an extremely entertaining piano-pop trio that writes cleverly optimistic songs. Their music gives off an aura that vaguely resembles happiness. Imagine! Upon first listen to these guys you will probably think two things (depending on how in touch with the '90s you are); "Ben" and "Folds." It's true that singer/piano player Ben Thornewill shares strong vocal similarities to that other Ben's tenor. And, of course, it doesn't quell comparisons when they're both piano men. But Jukebox the Ghost probably lean a little more towards the dramatic flair (a la Queen) than Folds did...People go crazy for these guys at their shows. Maybe you will, too?" - OH MY ROCKNESS.com

Tally Hall - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
You can usually identify Ann Arbor, Mich.'s Tally Hall by the quintet's different-colored ties. Well, that, and their unique, outside-the-box rock music, which incorporates everything from Beatles-esque harmonies and poppy choruses to hip-hop rhythms, indie rock sensibilities and playful lyrics. The group formed in late 2002 while attending the University of Michigan, and despite several members' plans for post-graduate education, decided to place all their focus on the musical project upon receiving their degrees. So far, their commitment is paying off - the band has signed to big-label Atlantic Records, has performed on national TV, and has had its infectious single, "Good Day," appear on an episode of the O.C. And according to the Detroit Free Press, Tally Hall's debut project, Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum -set to re-release on Atlantic this year - reveals a band that "seems to reference every entry in the pop encyclopedia … pop patchwork at its best."
Sky Box - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Skybox is the vehicle of Chicago musicians Tim Ellis and Christian Fields, Mike Holtz and Dan Ingenthron. In 2006 the band released Arco Iris, their debut record, which garnered a nationwide cult following the breakthrough success of the song “Various Kitchen Utensils”. The band toured heavily in support of the record, including dates with Man Man, Ben Folds, Tilly and the Wall, Tally Hall, and The Figurines. In 2009 the band recorded the follow up album with acclaimed producer Sean O’Keefe at Smart Studios in Madison, WI and Chicago’s Black Sheep Music. “Morning After Cuts”, which will be released on January 19, 2010, finds singer Tim Ellis in peak songwriting form, careening from Bowie glam to Flaming Lips exuberance without bothering to apologize. Their live shows are deservedly storied, often evolving into spectacles that in the past have included costumes, confetti, go go dancers, snack cakes and the occasional chicken suit.
