Vialka - (Set time: 11:30 PM)

Vialka is one of the most incredible bands I've ever seen. They are a 2-piece husband and wife team, and the last time they played JB's, Marylise, the drumming half of the duo was also pregnant. She is a mind-blowing drummer and when you add in the maniacally awesome prog-folk guitar of her husband Eric, I swear to you my face melts off. Vialka hail from deepest France, via everywhere and nowhere. Their music skips joyfully across borders, channeling desert blues, Chinese folk songs, scatter rock and European gypsy song dynamics in a whirlwind of dervish energy. Their endless gypsy punk folk rock tales, hard hitting poly-rhythms and yelps and howls make for a danceable and intoxicating brew. Like A Hawk And A Hacksaw or The Ex their openness to new sounds and cultures makes you feel alive and shows that 'world punk rock' need not be a dirty phrase.

Hermit Thrushes - (Set time: 10:30 PM)

Thrash-folk from Philly!

"Tucking freaky pop inside knotty indie rock, Hermit Thrushes are best known for their live shows, during which they swap mean-spirited banter with each other, wear color-coded outfits and brandish a trumpet when needed... Hermit Thrushes offer more proof that our city's newest generation of indie bands can colorfully defy genres while happily erupting all over the place." Doug Wallen - Philadelphia Weekly

CIrcadian Rhythms - (Set time: 9:45 PM)

Weird psychedelic schizophrenic musical organism from Philly. Hooray!

The Devil's Horns Kill the Matador

Live sampling, percussion, piano, horns, bells, drums, organs and other stuff all chopped up into a maniacal cabaret!
