BANDS:

I Think Like Midnight
http://www.ithinklikemidnight.com
I Think Like Midnight is an instrumental rock band formed by lovers of the lost art of the rock instrumental. Formed by Andrew Chalfen (The Trolleyvox, The Wishniaks, Gimme) and Dean Clean Sabatino (The Dead Milkmen, Baby Flamehead) along with Josh Newman (The Silver Ages, Heyward Howkins Band) and Philly Joe Drones Genaro (The Dead Milkmen, Butterfly Joe, Low Budgets). The initial spark was a reoccurring desire on the part of ITLM found Andrew Chalfen to hear a new record by the band Pell Mell (somewhat apocryphal, somewhat true). As no new Pell Mell record has been released since 1997, Chalfen formed ITLM in an attempt to make a Pell Mell record, which they did, up in Ithaca NY at the home recording studio of J. Robert Lennon. The result is the super-melodic groove and riff-filled "Warm Seclusion Structure," ITLM's debut album released in late 2014. Various members of Pell Mell have been shocked and stunned by it. ITLM are currently at work mixing on their 2nd album with producer Brian McTear at the controls at Miner Street Recordings for release later this year.

Joey Sweeney & The Neon Grease
https://www.facebook.com/veryrealjoeysweeney/
Joey Sweeney has been writing songs and prose since he was a teenager in the 1980s. Over the years, he has fronted the groups The Barnabys and The Trouble With Sweeney, as well as recording and performing as a solo artist. (Meanwhile, he’s also written for a wide array of publications, including Salon.com, Philadelphia Weekly, the Philadelphia Inquirer and his daily perch, Philebrity.com, the cityblog he established in 2004 after a decade-long run as a rock critic.)
His songs and records have received widespread critical acclaim over the years; of his last record with The Trouble With Sweeney, Fishtown Briefcase, Pitchfork said “[Sweeney] mixes autobiography and fiction against the group’s 70s-inflected indie pop, resourceful— and unabashed— enough to digress into an E Street interlude or an AM-rock guitar coda.” In early 2013, Sweeney went on to record Long Hair, with Grammy award-winning producer Aaron ‘Luis’ Levinson and Lushlife aka Raj Haldar.
