Grandchildren - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Grandchildren emerged in 2008 as pioneers of Philadelphia’s underground music scene known for their
unique cinematic blend of pop, folk and electronica. Their first three releases chart a sonic evolution
from the lo-fi Everlasting (2010), to the symphonic Golden Age (2013) to the pop-driven ZUNI (2015).
Songwriter Aleks Martray attributes his eclectic sound to a nomadic coming of age across three
continents and a decade of touring, during which he met frontwoman Shari Bolar. The couple’s soulful
harmonies and on stage chemistry came to define the band’s new sound, featured on the
self-titled release Grandchildren (2019).
Stereo League - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Stereo League
Hailing from Philadelphia, Stereo League emerged in the summer of 2018 with their
self-released debut album "A Light on Each Side", which featured over a dozen collaborators.
Initially classified as a recording collective, their live act is now comprised of five core members.
After several sold-out shows and radio performances, they promptly began work on a follow-up
EP due for release in the Spring of 2019. Continuing their "collective" mentality, this new batch
of songs features a few new faces and expands on their genre-bending style of songwriting.
Expect to see them hit the road in 2019 supporting their new release.
Vessna Scheff - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Vessna Scheff
My name is Vessna Scheff. I am an artist based in Philadelphia, PA.
Through my art, I reclaim who I am, what I have to say, and how I want to say it. Art, has always
been my space of freedom. I was quiet growing up but learned that I could be much louder
through singing. Singing allowed me to step into my voice - my power - and to encourage others
to live boldly, challenge structures, and create experiences that challenge our fears, craft our
freedom and nurture our empowerment.
Through the delicate and bold power of water, I paint emotive abstract and portrait pieces which
depict the power of people and nature. We are all bodies of water and together, we create
waves of change.
