Upholstery - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Assembled by nimble song crafter Jeremy Prouty (Voodoo Economics) to fill out the 2008 full-length release 6New Platitudes, Upholstery at first consisted of a continually rotating cast of players, with the versatile Alison Conard (Voodoo Economics) providing multi-instrumental backing and engineering/production support.

Corey Mark (Decycler, ex-Bear is Driving) stayed on as a permanent member starting in 2009 ahead of Upholstery's second LP, the 2011 album Clydesdales & Tardigrades. This release marked the solidification of Upholstery as a band, when John Wilder (Cranes are Flying, Charmaine's Names, ex-Touch&Taste) joined as bassist, followed by Dorie Byrne (Charmaine's Names) on accordion/keys. Local heavy-hitters continue to join Upholstery on occasion to amp up the party.
Irreversible Entanglements - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Irreversible Entanglements
Irreversible Entanglements features searing poetic narrations of Black trauma, survival, and power by poet Camae Ayewa (a/k/a Moor Mother) set within the fire music of instrumentalists Keir Neuringer (saxophone), Aquiles Navarro (trumpet), Luke Stewart (bass), and Tcheser Holmes (drums). Hailing from Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, DC, they formed in 2015 out of a performance at a Musicians Against Police Brutality event in Brooklyn following the murder of Akai Gurley by the NYPD. Soon after their debut album dropped, on the International Anthem and Don Giovanni labels in late 2017, Irreversible Entanglements received a litany of critical praise and landed on over a dozen best of year lists, including WIRE magazine, NPR, Bandcamp, The Quietus, and Stereogum. Blazing European tours have followed, and the band has lit up stages from the storied Moers Festival to the London Barbican, from the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago to Unsound in Krakow, from Le Guess Who in Utrecht to Sons d’Hiver in Paris. Their music has been called “a kinetic bubbling over of political and spiritual energy” (Liz Pelly, Shadowproof) “with urgent improvisation that unfolds like a fire flower of rebellion” (Lars Gotrich, NPR).
Settled Arrows - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Settled Arrows
Settled Arrows is the genre-defying pop music project of vocalist, composer and performance artist Andrew Mars. The ensemble features an ever-evolving team of musicians from the rock, classical and avant-garde worlds and has been compared to Scott Walker, John Cale and Kate Bush. WXPN called the debut, Public Privacy, a "beautiful time capsule of modern life and love." The group is currently working on their third album.
