Gene Wildest - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Gene Wildest
Future Flowers is the third full-length album from Philadelphia-based alt-rock band Gene Wildest. It's math rock-inspired psychedelic rock meant for guitar nerds and regular ol' weirdos alike. The title stems from the idea that one day we're all just going to be places for future flowers to grow, a theme pervasive throughout the band's catalog. Legends from the days of yore have declared that Gene Wildest "can channel the whole of rock history in the span of a song" (Steph Davies, WXPN's The Key, 2018). A stone tablet unearthed in Miami carried an inscription proclaiming that the band have "sonically quantified the type of music that I want to smoke weed and/or cry to" (Olivia McAuley, Too Much Love Magazine, 2018). An ancient burial urn exhumed in 2018 featured a single inscription, reading "I know it sounds crazy, but Gene Wildest are an absolute delight from beginning to end" (Steve Howe, Outlaws of the Sun, 2018). Whispers through the trees of ancient forests have been heard, uttering that "I like that one song with that pretty part" (our moms, once). In short, if you enjoy sick guitar riffs, sultry bass lines, and dope beats, then you'll enjoy Future Flowers. Your mom might, too.
The Not Fur Longs - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
The Not Fur Longs
School nerd Bill just wants to save the world and to score a date with cheerleader babe Chrissie Schackler. Both become real possibilities when he finds The Not fur Longs in a beer bottle he was about to recycle. Wacky hooks ensue and for the Not Fur Longs, suddenly, life is more than french fries, gravy and cheese. Can the rock n roll band in a bottle and Bill fight off school jock Tony Chanuka and marry Chrissie so they can fulfill their dream of opening a clinic?
Deeply Woven - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Deeply Woven
Deeply Woven is a 4-piece progressive rock band from New Jersey that combines elements of metal, jazz fusion, math rock, ambience and atmosphere. Their music ranges from upbeat, colorful, and triumphant to tranquil, melancholic, and cinematic. Guitarist/composer Jorge Torres and drummer Stephen Wilson started performing in 2014 and continued to explore and refine their sound. Always intending to have a full line-up, the addition of bassist Sean Wallace and guitarist Shawn Hadid completed the sound that makes Deeply Woven what it is today. Since then, they have played shows extensively, gaining a following mostly in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. On stage, genuine synergy effortlessly flows between each member and the audience from the first note to the last note. Execution is never over-looked, yet the group manages to freely move around to the cadence of each track. In between these gigs, they worked to complete their self-recorded and self-titled debut EP (available now!). Mixed and mastered by Adam Bentley of Arch Echo, each track embodies clarity, fluidity, and an overall impactful experience. From the ethereal opening track, “The Sky’s Limit”, to the vibrant closer, “Ghost”, the EP culminates the indispensable quality that marks the beginning of Deeply Woven.
