Chris Forsyth - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Chris Forsyth
Guitarist Chris Forsyth's hypnotic compositions assimilate art rock texture with folk, blues, and experimental influences. Long active in the improv/experimental underground, he's released a series of acclaimed records over the past few years, including his 2011 LP Paranoid Cat on Family Vineyard and Early Astral, a 2012 duo LP with Mountains' Koen Holtkamp on Blackest Rainbow. 2012's Kenzo Deluxe on Northern Spy was described as "resonant [and] incisive... a cosmic abstraction of the American guitar tradition, reducing blues, rock, folk and improvisation into their spare, hypnotic base elements." (Philadelphis City Paper). He has also collaborated with artists including Meg Baird, Tetuzi Akiyama, Mike Pride, and Nate Wooley. Forsyth was awarded a 2011 Pew Fellowship in the Arts and resides in the City of Philadelphia.

"...an erudite and farsighted guitar stylist, mapping a path that's hip and scholarly in equal measure." - Daniel Spicer, The Wire Magazine

"Kenzo Deluxe sits at the strange border of cock rock and raga... Forsyth seems to exhume and then exploit the entire defunct history of American guitar culture." - Ed Commentale, Tiny Mix Tapes

"The work of an emergent master." - Uncut

"An intimate set of solo electric guitar pieces, (Kenzo Deluxe) should further cement his reputation as a postmodern master of the instrument." - Rodger Coleman, Spectrum Culture
Ben Seretan - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Ben Seretan
Born in: California. Lives in: Brooklyn. Ben Seretan plays the electric guitar, sings, and makes drones. If heaven exists, Ben wants to find it with delay pedals and join the chorus of angels. Lulling repetition, tenderness, pop melodies, and gospel tunes, all propelled forward by a cascade of electric guitar. He counts among his main influences La Monte Young, Prince, the Minutemen, and the Carter Family. He has released three solo full-lengths in the last 2 years (New Music, New Space, New Song) and one collaborative LP with Portland-based The Early (In Two). Usually one man and a guitar, but this tour features the mighty Alex Lewis of The Early, a like-minded guitarist and radio producer. Together they are a formidable duo.
Neighborhood Choir - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Neighborhood Choir
Neighborhood Choir is the project of Philadelphia’s Bennett Daniels, a side player and regular bassist in the city’s tight-knit space rock scene. Left to his own devices in the Choir, Daniels makes what he refers to as “glo-fi pop.” Which is an appropriate description when you’re crediting somebody on your recording with “slide guitar and twinkles” (that would be collaborator Paul Sukeena). But if that sets off your worry instincts that maybe this music might be too noodley and naval-gazing for you liking – fear not. Daniels strikes a great balance between creating a vibey ambience and crafting catchy, memorable pop numbers, walking the same tightrope as Grandaddy and American Analog Set, and doing it admirably. Members of Laser Background, Spacin', and Speed Skating.
