Yellow Humphrey - (Set time: 11:15 PM)
Yellow Humphrey
Yellow Humphrey is the musical delivery system for the splendidly haunting songs of singer/guitarist/violist Gretchen Lohse. The group also consists of Paper Masques leader Stephen Quaranta, Rick Flom of National Eye, Papertrees drummer Alec Meltzer, bassist Dave Barbaree and multi-instrumentalist Naeemah Maddox on multi-instruments.

Deli Magazine (not actually a magazine about delis) has said "Blending classical strings and siren calls, they lure you deep into a forest on the outskirts of awake and dreaming." Brian Rademaekers of the Philadelphia Inquirer said a whole lot of things about the band, including the following: "[Yelllow Humphrey is] downright psychedelic at times," "[they bring] in a 1970s British folk vibe" and "[Lohse] really shines in the slower moments, when you can soak in all the delicate and nuanced turns that her voice is capable of."

The band recently completed their full-length album, recorded by Barbaree and Flom and mixed by Nick Krill of the Spinto Band, which will be available at their Album Release Show at Johnny Brenda's on April 29th. Pre-orders for the album (and various other YH-related prizes) can be made by donating to the band's Kickstarter project until it ends March 13th.

A video for the song "Cherry Tree," edited by experimental artist Mike Spano, has been featured on the XPN website and many music blogs.

Join Yellow Humphrey and their guests on April 29th at Johnny Brenda's to celebrate the release of their debut album!
Young Nick Krill and Magic Mike - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
Young Nick Krill and Magic Mike
Young Nick Krill (real name: Nick Krill) is from Delaware's mighty Spinto Band. Mike Quinn has been in such amazing groups as Okay Paddy, the Sw!ms, and And The Moneynotes. That's not a typo, the band was called And The Moneynotes. Anyway, sometimes these two musical titans team up to perform together under the banner Young Nick Krill and Mike Quinn. They perform songs from their respective repertoires in a duo setting, reflecting all manner of exotic locations and sturdy musical traditions, while maintaining their individual brands of color pop wonder. They are also powerful singers, capable of wailing in huge, handsome harmony. Admirers of either Nick or Mike's other endeavors in music will find something truly spectacular in this dramatic pairing.
Eliza Hardy-Jones - (Set time: 9:15 PM)
Eliza Hardy-Jones
Eliza Hardy-Jones is co-lead singer for Philadelphia's smash sensation Buried Beds. The Beds have been barnstorming America the past few months on high profile tours with Me Without You, Dr. Dog, and Murder By Death, and have just released their long-awaited album Tremble The Sails to much acclaim, jubilation, and (the good kind of) trembling. Eliza takes the stage at Johnny Brenda's in a rare solo performance, during which she'll employ a dizzying array of futuristic gadgets to create a noise as expansive and lush as her famed band.
