Deadfellow - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Deadfellow
As heard on 88.5 WXPN and Radio 104.5, Deadfellow is the moniker of prolific singer-songwriter Hayden Sammak, who will be releasing his newest record Millennials in Love (And Other Pre-Apocolyptic Standards) Saturday, June 23 at Johnny Brenda’s.

Drawing influence from a wide spectrum of artists from Bob Dylan and The Velvet Underground to Frank Sinatra and The Beach Boys, Sammak blends aesthetics to achieve the unique sounds of his largely conceptual albums.

His first releases, Love Songs for the Contemporary Listener (2017) and Mescalifornia: A California Dream (2017) are parts one and two of a trilogy, soon to be completed by Millennials in Love (and Other Pre-Apocalyptic Standards).

Recorded in Nashville, Millennials In Love (And Other Pre-Apocalyptic Standards) is a dark yet optimistic look towards the future. It’s title track, Millennials In Love, was featured as WXPN’s “Gotta Hear Song of the Week” in Feburary. Showcasing the work of Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), Rob Crowell (Midland, Deer Tick), produced by Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses) and mixed and mastered by grammy winning producer/engineer Phil Nicolo (Lauryn Hill, Bob Dylan), the record may be his most ambitious to date.
Sixteen Jackies - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Sixteen Jackies
Sixteen Jackies have been lurking in the basement of Philadelphia since early 2016 building a sound that while often nostalgic, defies easy categorization. With their first EP "Movie Was Bad," they've unveiled an offbeat pop sensibility which draws to mind both the manic spirit of the Talking Heads and the aching balladry of Roy Orbison. By setting the intimate details of singer Jody DeMarco's singularly queer experience against a soundscape which takes cues from the atmosphere of classic horror films, Sixteen Jackies have produced a unique set of torch songs for misfits and weirdos of all kinds.
Fake Fight - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Fake Fight
Fake Fight is a musical group that emerged as the result of a collaboration between local singer-songwriters Michael Stec and Jordan Ramirez. They began playing and writing together in 2016, and quickly established a catalog of original songs that range from dreamy-folk to funk and hip-hop. In 2017, they recruited guitarist Brendan Brisk and drummer Stephen Stec and began performing as Fake Fight. Their first EP is due for release later this month.
